The Pittsburgh Highlanders are on a brief winter hiatus at the moment. That’s left the management team with some space time to explore new corporate partnerships to benefit the club. As many of you who have suffered injuries in the past will know, the Highlanders have had a long-standing relationship with the East Suburban Sports Medicine Center. Their team has been providing physical therapy, athletic training and rehabilitation services to our club and players for many years. Before we go on to talk about our new corporate partners, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the ESSMC team for all their continued support of the club.
As of next year, the Pittsburgh Highlanders will have an official nutrition supplier. Many of our players and supporters use nutritional supplements as part of their training. Our newest partner is a sports nutrition company that makes supplements exclusively for rugby players. Ruck Science, is a relatively new company operating out of Austin, TX. It’s run by a group of rugby players who wanted to create a nutrition company that just does rugby. No MMA, no bodybuilding, no soccer, just rugby. As part of our agreement with Ruck Science, every time a Highlanders player or supporter makes a purchase on their website, they’ll send the club a cash donation for up to 20% of your order value.
The management team here at the Highlanders wants to help ensure that those players who use nutritional supplements are getting the best possible quality products on the market. After careful consultation with Ruck Science’s team, we now believe that these guys have the right products for our players and supporters. Further, if you have any comments, questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact their customer service team here email@example.com – you can also request batch testing results for all their products.
Supplement stacks by training objective
The Highlanders’ partnership with Ruck Science isn’t exclusive. It’s not going to be a big deal if you have a different brand of whey protein or pre-workout at training. But do please take a look at their range of supplements to see if changing brands would be a possibility. Especially if there are products on their website that you’re already using like whey protein and pre-workout powder. Every little bit helps, guys!
For all the non gym-junkies
The Ruck Science website is the huge library of free rugby resources available for download. You have to create an account to download them all at once, but there’s some super-useful stuff in there about 7s training for example. Whenever a new rugby union, rugby club or research center publishes a downloadable resources, they make it available for download. If you’re new to rugby or interested in learning more about the technical aspects of the game, their training blog is pretty cool too.
A couple things to keep in mind if you want to try out Ruck Science and compare them to other supplement manufacturers:
- Sign up for Rucks (their rewards program) and you’ll get $20 to spend before your first purchase.
- Use code INTROSTACK for 50% off their sample supplement stack
- Use code HIGHLANDERSINTRO for 30% off everything else
- Make sure you list the “Pittsburgh Highlanders” as your rugby club during the checkout process so they know where to send the donations!
